This is a journey to the heart of the New Zealand fly fishing dream.

If you’re a highly conservative, tweedy, split cane kind of fly fisher this short video may not be for you. The editing and music are modern, but there’s no argument that the back country scenery on both the north and south islands is simply stunning…and then there are the fish.

Both dry and wet flies get a fair workout on wild browns and rainbows. As you will quickly figure out we’re just enthusiastic amateurs, not hardened professionals, but the point of this video is that New Zealand is a place where everyday people can pick up nice trout.

It was a fun shoot – lots of open road, interesting weather from time to time, some memorable fish and some unfinished business.  No plugs for guides or lodges, just a whole lot of trouty goodness.

Relax, sit back and click here. Hope you enjoy it.
